They will be trained in two rounds – 2-day induction and 1-day refresher, where they will be oriented on:

  • Mosquito borne disease prevention
  • Source reduction
  • Diagnostics, and treatment (non-technical)
  • Training on digital skills: geo-tagging, use of social media
  • Leadership skills
  • Street theater, script writing
  • Citizen engagement and
  • Gender
  • After the training sessions, 500 Youth Volunteers would have clarity on their role in community engagement and advocacy, their reporting responsibilities and the incentives linked to their engagement as referenced above.

Youth Volunteers will not be paid any stipend except travel and wage loss support for participating in events and trainings.

Inclusion criteria for youth volunteers will be:

  • Age between 18-24 years
  • Working as volunteers with some existing projects
  • Committed to provide time for volunteering

Up to 100 Youth Volunteers will be felicitated through the project, based on the below criteria:

  • Basti Mapping and Geo Tagging – Completed – 100%
  • Helped in closing up to 80% issues in coordination with Municipal Corporation
  • Basti development activities completed

  • Project Inception Event/Workshop – one in each location at city level
